Academics at CH-CH: Our Approach

CH-CH provides many challenging programs in the classroom and beyond. The academic program is designed to support and challenge each student and to acknowledge that students learn in a variety of ways. Watch our academic department chairs provide an in-depth explanation of the underlying goals of the curriculum that equips students with opportunities to develop confidence as learners and achieve a great degree of independence.

College Counseling

At CH-CH, students learn and build the habits of a successful college student from day one. In order to get students prepared and excited about going to college, we believe they should be connected to, and develop ownership in their experiences as learners. Watch our Director of College Counseling, Brooke Fincke, outline the entire college process, the importance of finding the best fit school, and how it all begins when students understand themselves as learners.

Skills and Academic Strategies at CH-CH

The Skills and Academic Support (SAS) Department provides an individualized program of support and strategies so students can reach their full potential in high school and college. With a student-teacher ratio never greater than 4:1, department faculty are able to address individual student needs in a personal and friendly setting. Watch Skills and Academic Support teacher, Maura Henry, and current students discuss how the class has and continues to develop students into skilled, confident learners who can independently advocate for themselves.

Our Home: CH-CH's Campus

CH-CH's campus spans 42 acres in Waltham, Massachusetts. You'll often see teachers taking their classes outside, whether they're using the pond in the center of campus for a lab in biology or finding a quiet spot in the shade for a 9th grade class to discuss The Odyssey. With all of this serene green space, we often forget that Boston is only ten miles away.

On weekends, students attend activities in Boston to see a play, attend a sporting event, or simply walk its historic streets. They return to CH-CH’s homelike environment, where it's easy to concentrate and there's plenty of space to learn and grow.
